We're updating our terminology in Jira

'Issue' is changing to 'work item'. You might notice some inconsistencies while this big change takes place.

Insert the include content macro

You can use the include content macro to display the full contents of a Confluence page, live doc, or blog in another page, live doc, or blog.

To add the include content macro:

  2. Find the macro by name and select it

  3. Configure it as needed

You can also type / on the page to bring up the same list you'd see by selecting from the toolbar. Continue typing the name of the macro to filter the list.

To edit the include page macro:

  1. Select the macro placeholder.

  2. Select the Edit icon to open the configuration panel.

  3. Configure the parameters. Your changes are saved as you go.

  4. Resume editing the page, and the panel closes.

You can also select the centered , medium-width , and full-width icons to adjust the width of some macros. Select the trashcan iconto remove the macro.

Parameters

Parameters are options that you can set to control what and how content from the macro appears on a page or live doc.

If the parameter name used in Confluence Cloud storage format is different than the label used when inserting macros using the browser or the slash command, it will be listed below in brackets (example).

Parameter

Default

Description

Content to Include

None

This is the name of the Confluence page, live doc, or blog post that you want to include in the current page, live doc, or blog post. Start typing a title, and Confluence will suggest matching content from the current space and other spaces.

Alternatively you can specify the content as follows:

  • If the page, live doc, or blog post is located in another space, add the space key and a colon in front of the name. For example, DOC:My page name. The space key is case sensitive.

  • To include a blog post, specify the date as well as the title of the blog post. For example: /2010/12/01/My blog post.

  • You can include content from personal spaces using ~username as the space key, where 'username' is the person's username. For example, ~jsmith:My page name.

If you want to include part of an item rather than the whole item, use the

excerpt and insert excerpt macros.

To display a page or doc’s contents, you need View permission for that content. Similarly, people who view the content will need View permissions for the embedded item as well as the item into which it is embedded. Contact your Confluence space administrator for more information about permissions.
