Move Atlassian app data to another location

If data residency is available for your Atlassian app, you can request to have your in-scope app data pinned to a new location. You may need to do this to meet company data requirements. Or, if you work in a regulated industry like finance, government, or healthcare, this may be necessary for operating in a cloud environment.

This page provides detailed information on how to request a data residency move, how the move will affect your app, and how we manage your data residency move.

If data residency is available for your Atlassian app, you can move it to one of the supported locations. About locations

1. 移動 [アトラシアンの管理] に移動します。組織が複数ある場合は、対象の組織を選択します。

2. [セキュリティ] > [データ レジデンシー] の順に選択します。

3. In the data residency table, select View details for the Atlassian app that you want to move.

4. [場所を設定] を選択します。

5. Review information about the steps involved in moving an app. Select Next.

6. Select the location from the menu where you want to move your app. Select Next.

7. 移動ウィンドウを選択します。[次へ] を選択します。

8. Review the Marketplace apps. Select Next.

9. データ レジデンシーの移動リクエストの詳細を確認し、[リクエストを送信] を選択します。

予定されていたデータ レジデンシーの移動はキャンセルできます。ただし、データ レジデンシーの移動が開始されて進行中になると、キャンセルできません。予定されていたデータ レジデンシーの移動をキャンセルする方法をご確認ください。

Some Marketplace apps will move with the Atlassian app

We support a combined move of a Atlassian app and some of its installed Marketplace apps. While we're moving your Atlassian app to its new location, some of its installed Marketplace apps will move automatically. As a result, some of the Marketplace apps that support a data residency move will be moved along with the Atlassian app. Some Marketplace apps will have to be moved separately after the Atlassian app is moved to the data residency location. When you request a data residency move, we gather information about your Atlassian app, including the size of your app data. This information helps us identify an appropriate move window for you so that we can make your data residency move smoothly. 移動ウィンドウは、データ レジデンシーの移動のスケジュールをいつに設定するかを示します。移動ウィンドウには 3 つのタイプがあります。

メインテナンス ウィンドウ中に移動を予定する

移動はメンテナンス ウィンドウ中に行われます。このオプションは、移動が標準のメンテナンス ウィンドウ内に安全に行える場合に利用可能になります。このオプションでは、データ レジデンシーの移動による推定ダウンタイムは 2 時間未満です。

今後 48 時間以内に移動をスケジュールする

移動は、48 時間以内にスケジュールされます。このオプションは、予想されるダウンタイムが 20 時間未満の場合に利用可能になります。たとえば、予想されるダウンタイムが 19 時間で、このオプションを選択すると、移動は次の 48 時間以内にスケジュールされます。移動のスケジュールが決まると、メールで通知されます。

24 時間のウィンドウで移動をスケジュールする

移動は、ご希望の日時に開始します。ただし、少なくとも 3 日前までに移動をリクエストする必要があります。

Regardless of how we manage your data residency move, you can check its status on admin.atlassian.com > Security> Data residency. To keep you up to date, we'll also email you when the status of your move changes, including when your move starts, when it's finished, and when your Atlassian app is back online.

Before you request a data residency move, you should understand how a data residency move affects your Atlassian app.

How we move your Atlassian app data

1. Create a copy of your Atlassian app data in your selected location.

2. Verify that the app data in the two locations match.

3. Delete the source app data in the original location.

We only delete your source app data once we have confirmed that your Atlassianapp data is in your selected location.

New in-app notifications are also pinned in the destination location, and old in-app notifications stay in the original location for up to 30 days.

How a data residency move affects your Atlassian app

All Atlassian apps – your app will be offline at the start of the move 

When your app is moving to its new location, it will be offline for some of the time at the start of the process. While it's offline, your users won't be able to access the app. This process could take 2 to 24 hours to complete, depending on the size and type of your data. However, it would be best to plan for your app to be offline for up to 24 hours. We'll email you when your move starts, when it's finished, and when your app is back online. All Atlassian apps – linked sandboxes won’t be moved 

When you create a sandbox, we automatically host it in the same location as the Atlassian app that it's linked to. For example, if you create a sandbox for an app pinned to the US location, we’ll pin your sandbox to the same location.

We don’t, however, move sandboxes with their linked Atlassian app. For example, if you move the app to the EU location, we won’t move the linked sandbox, and it will remain pinned to the US location. If you want to move the sandbox to the EU location, you’ll need to request a separate move.

All Atlassian apps – Some Marketplace apps will move

We support a combined move of an Atlassian app and some of its installed Marketplace apps. While we're moving your Atlassian app to its new location, some of its installed Marketplace apps will move automatically. This means that some of the Marketplace apps that support a data residency move will be moved along with the Atlassian app. However, some Marketplace apps will have to be moved separately after the Atlassian app has moved to the preferred data residency location. There may also be Marketplace apps that won’t be able to move at all since they don’t support data residency. Learn about data residency for Marketplace apps

Both Atlassian app and its Marketplace apps will be offline, during the data residency move.

Jira – apps on the same site URL will all be moved together 

Jira Cloud apps are all built on the Jira platform. As a result, we move all Jira Cloud apps on the same site URL together. If you have Jira, and Jira Service Management on the same site URL:

• moving one of these apps will also move the other two apps to the same location

• all three apps will be offline during the data residency move

• all three apps will be pinned to the new location when the move is finished

Jira Service Management 環境で Opsgenie を使用している場合は、Opsgenie を利用する Jira Service Management 機能でもダウンタイムが発生します。データのサイズと種類によっては、処理に最大 24 時間かかることがあります。この期間中には、移動の開始時、完了時と、Opsgenie がオンラインに戻って利用可能になったときにメールでお知らせします。

Jira – 同じサイト URL のサンドボックスはすべてオフラインになります 

When you move a Jira Cloud app sandbox, all your Jira Cloud app sandboxes on the same site URL will experience downtime. This is due to how the apps in this family are all built on the same platform. Learn more about sandboxes

Confluence – 編集モードで行った変更は保存されません 

データ レジデンシーの移動中に Confluence がオフラインの間、ユーザーが編集モードで開いているページに加えた変更は保存されません。

Confluence – 移動後、検索が一時的に機能しません 

After a data residency move, it will be re-indexed when Confluence comes back online. While this happens, the search won’t be fully operational and may not function as expected. Re-indexing can take a few hours but may take up to three days, depending on the size of your app data.

データ レジデンシーの移動をキャンセルする

データ レジデンシーの移動のステータスが MOVE SCHEDULED の場合に移動をキャンセルできます。ステータスが MOVE IN PROGRESS に変わった後は移動をキャンセルできません。

データ レジデンシーの移動をキャンセルするには、次の手順に従います。

1. 移動 [アトラシアンの管理] に移動します。組織が複数ある場合は、対象の組織を選択します。

2. [セキュリティ] > [データ レジデンシー] の順に選択します。

3. Find the app in the data residency table and select More actions.

4. [移動をキャンセル] を選択します。

After we cancel the move, this status will be replaced with the current AWS region in which the app is currently located. We’ll also email you to confirm your move has been canceled.
