Edit labels of a work item with your keyboard

You can edit labels of a work item using only your keyboard via the command palette.

Create a label

To create a label with the command palette:

  1. Make sure you’re viewing a work item either in the side bar or in full screen.

  2. Open the command palette.

    1. If you’re a Mac user, press command + K to open the command palette.

    2. If you’re a windows user, press Ctrl + K to open the command palette.

  3. Search for the command Add labels, or Edit labels if your work item already has labels.

  4. Enter a name for the label and select Create new label.

Add or edit a label

To add or edit a label with the command palette:

  1. Make sure you’re viewing a work item either in the side bar or in full screen.

  2. Open the command palette.

    1. If you’re a Mac user, press command + K to open the command palette.

    2. If you’re a windows user, press Ctrl + K to open the command palette.

  3. Search for the command Add labels, or Edit labels if your work item already has labels.

  4. Search for the label you’d like to add to the work item or locate it in the dropdown list, then select enter on your keyboard.

Remove a label

To remove a label with the command palette:

  1. Make sure you’re viewing an work item either in the side bar or in full screen.

  2. Open the command palette.

    1. If you’re a Mac user, press command + K to open the command palette.

    2. If you’re a windows user, press Ctrl + K to open the command palette.

  3. Search for the command Edit labels.

  4. Locate the label you want to remove in the dropdown list, then select enter on your keyboard.
