Manage Marketplace apps for sandboxes
Who can do this? Role: Organization admin Plan: Premium, Enterprise Atlassian Government Cloud: Not available |
Add Marketplace apps with a paid subscription on a linked production environment
Atlassian Marketplace apps with a paid subscription on a linked production environment can be added to a sandbox for free.
To add a Marketplace app to your sandbox for free:
Go to your Jira, Jira Service Management, or Confluence administration section of your sandbox.
Go to Apps > Explore apps.
Choose the Marketplace app you want and select Add to sandbox.
Please note: You may not see this option for adding Marketplace apps to sandbox in some instances if you are on the original billing experience. These apps may incur charges and won’t be available for free on sandbox.
If you cancel or uninstall a Marketplace app in production, we also revoke access to that apps in the sandbox.
Add Marketplace apps without a paid subscription on a linked production environment
Atlassian Marketplace apps without a paid subscription on a linked production environment can be added on a free trial with the option to add payment details at the end of the trial period. This means you can install apps from the Atlassian Marketplace or through the Manage apps screen from within your Jira, Jira Service Management, or Confluence administration section of your sandbox and try them out.
We’ll send you email notifications about your trial period ending. Once the trial ends, you’ll need to add your payment details to purchase a subscription to keep using the app in your sandbox. Subscriptions for Marketplace apps in your sandbox are available monthly, and the price is calculated on the number of users with access to your sandbox, not your production environment. We don’t support annual subscriptions for apps in a sandbox.
If you have issues with installation or billing, contact support.
Remove Marketplace apps from a sandbox
If you trialed a Marketplace app on your sandbox and don’t want to be billed for it once the trial ends, you need to stop the trial and remove the Marketplace app from your sandbox.
To remove an expired Marketplace app from your sandbox:
Go to your Jira, Jira Service Management, or Confluence administration section of your sandbox. To ensure that you’re on your sandbox environment, check your URL. If your production site URL is
acme.atlassian.net
, your sandbox URL could beacme-sandbox-123.atlassian.net
.
If you’ve manually changed your sandbox URL, follow these steps to make sure that you’re in your sandbox:Go to Atlassian Administration. Select your organization if you have more than one.
Select Apps.
From your list of Atlassian apps, select your sandbox. Sandboxes are indicated by the label ‘sandbox’.
Select and open your sandbox.
Go to Settings > Apps > Manage your apps.
Choose the Marketplace app you want to remove and select Stop trial if you have a Marketplace app that is still being trialed. Select Unsubscribe if you’re trying to remove a Marketplace app with a paid subscription.
Select Uninstall to remove the Marketplace app.
Selecting Uninstall before unsubscribing or stopping your trial from Manage apps will not stop the Marketplace app from being counted towards your bill. Select Stop trial (for Marketplace apps that are still being trialed) or Unsubscribe (for Marketplace apps with a paid subscription) to ensure that you’re not billed.
If you have expired Marketplace apps on your existing sandbox, you won’t be able to create a new one until you remove them. Once you remove them, you’ll need to wait for 24 hours before creating a new sandbox.
For more details on Marketplace apps, see Manage Marketplace apps in Confluence and Manage Marketplace apps in Jira.
We don’t support all Marketplace apps in sandbox yet.
